It's not too early to begin thinking about how we can help our neighbors who are hungry. Those of us who have a roof over our heads, food on our tables and in our pantries, and some form of employment to provide for our basic needs have much to be thankful for. As fellow centsible couponers are aware, we will be purchasing items over the next several weeks for pennies of the original sale price. Take the time now to plan to share your good fortune with those who are in desperate need - many of them children -- by participating in the National Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Find a spot in your home to set aside extra food items for donation on May 14th.
Place these non-perishable* food items in a bag.
Leave at your mailbox on Saturday, May 14th.
Your letter carrier will pick up and deliver to local food banks or pantries.
*Donate items like canned meats, fish, soup, bottled juice, vegetables, pasta, cereal and rice that do not require refrigeration. Please do not include items that have expired or are in glass containers.
