Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive May 14th

I posted a few weeks ago about the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers but I just wanted to give you a reminder.  Hopefully you've been couponing with this food drive in mind!  I've been gathering items from my pantry to donate and thought I would mention how donating might be made easier.  While in my local Albertsons this week I noticed they've put a very large box close to their front door with the Stamp Out Hunger logo.  You can just drop your donations there if it's more convenient for you!

Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive Reminder

Just a reminder . . . Saturday, May 14th is the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive sponsored by the National Letter Carriers Association.  You can leave non-perishable food items by your mailbox and your letter carrier will pick it up.  I also noticed a large donation box by the entrance doors inside my local Albertsons where you can leave your donations if that's more convenient for you.

We have so much to be grateful for . . . sharing our good fortune with those who are in need is the least we can do for one another.  Be generous!

National Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive - May 14, 2011

It's not too early to begin thinking about how we can help our neighbors who are hungry.  Those of us who have a roof over our heads, food on our tables and in our pantries, and some form of employment to provide for our basic needs have much to be thankful for.  As fellow centsible couponers are aware, we will be purchasing items over the next several weeks for pennies of the original sale price.  Take the time now to plan to share your good fortune with those who are in desperate need - many of them children -- by participating in the National Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.  Find a spot in your home to set aside extra food items for donation on May 14th.
  • Place these non-perishable* food items in a bag.
  • Leave at your mailbox on Saturday, May 14th.
  • Your letter carrier will pick up and deliver to local food banks or pantries.
*Donate items like canned meats, fish, soup, bottled juice, vegetables, pasta, cereal and rice that do not require refrigeration. Please do not include items that have expired or are in glass containers.
