Helpful Coupon Terms

RJ = Review Journal
Las Vegas Newspaper

SS = SmartSource
Weekly coupon booklet found in the RJ Sunday newspaper

GM = General Mills
Occasionally found in the RJ

K = Kelloggs
Occasionally found in the RJ

RP = Red Plum
Found in your junk mail on Tuesday or Wednesday with the grocery store ads.

PG = Proctor & Gamble
Found in your junk mail once a month (usually the last week) with the RedPlum and grocery store ads.

Some zip codes may not receive all inserts. Most coupons are good for 4 to 6 weeks after being published, but some coupons may be good for much longer than that - up to 5 months. It is a good practice to keep your inserts for 6 months.

Common Abbreviations & Terms

BOGO or B1G1 = Buy one, get one free

Catalina = voucher that prints at the grocery store after your qualifying purchase

CRT = cash register tape, a coupon printed at the end of a CVS receipt or from the price scanner

EB/ECB = extra care bucks at CVS

ETS/ets = excludes trial sizes

far = free after rebate

GS = Grocery Smarts

IVC = Instant Value Coupons found in Walgreens monthly coupon booklets

Q = coupon

mfr = manufacturer

mir = mail in rebate

MQ = manufacturer coupon

NLA = no longer available

OOP = Out of Pocket

OYNO = On Your Next Order

psa = prices starting at

RR/rr = register rewards

wyb = when you buy
